“A Confession” heißt übersetzt ein Geständnis. Die Aussage dieses Liedes ist die häufigst vertonte. Und obwohl diese Aussage so alt und häufig ist, kommt sie einem doch manchmal nicht so leicht über die Lippen; dies ist insbesondere wohl dann der Fall, wenn man die drei berühmten Worte das ein oder andere Mal jemandem gesagt hat, der das irgendwann vergessen hat oder nicht mehr zu schätzen wußte.
